About Flow
Flow is an interactive story reader. Start a story however you want — a topic you've been thinking about, a chapter you paste in, a PDF, a drawing your kid made, or a book title you remember loving — and Flow writes the first scene. You tell it what should happen next, in plain language. It writes the next scene. The story branches as far as you take it.
Flow is built for reading, not writing. You're not co-authoring; you're steering. The writer is the AI, the director is you, and the prose is what you actually look at on the page. No chat bubbles, no choice buttons cluttering the screen, no notifications. Just a column of prose and a place to type what should happen next.
- Read a familiar story differently.
- Drop in a chapter from a classic and follow the original — or change one decision and see where it leads. What if Romeo's letter arrived on time? What if the Time Traveller stayed home?
- Start something new.
- Begin with a setting, a character, a what-if, or a topic — "a town buried under sand," "the first ship to Europa" — and Flow opens the first scene with that as the seed.
- Adapt the experience.
- Tell Flow how to write: reading level, scene length, content boundaries, sensory cautions, vocabulary, a curriculum tie-in. Flow follows your guidance as it writes each scene.
- Bring your own pictures.
- Upload a drawing, a photograph, or an image from a book and Flow can fold it into the scene — handy for tying art class to a prompt or putting a kid's own drawing inside a story.
- Hear it read aloud.
- Each scene can be read with your device's built-in voice or with higher-quality voices through your OpenAI account, so the same book works for a tired student or a long car ride.
- Use it however you want.
- Flow is for readers who like to mess with stories — change endings, branch off mid-chapter, drop a character into a different book, push a familiar plot somewhere new. Built for fourth graders and adult fiction tinkerers alike.
- Use it as a parent.
- Flow has a Parent Mode for families and younger readers. It narrows the model dropdown, swaps copy to age-appropriate language, and forces stricter provider privacy. Toggle it on in settings.
- Save and resume across devices.
- Sign in with Google and Flow can save your library to Drive and sync your provider keys across devices, so the home laptop and a tablet start from the same place. Sync is opt-in.
What Flow is not
Flow is not a writing tool, a grading tool, or a social platform. It does not track progress or post to a feed. There is no required account. No app-store download required — Flow installs from the browser if you want it on your home screen.
The reader stays in control
Your directions guide the story. Flow follows your choices rather than redirect them. Generated scenes can still be inaccurate or unsuitable — review what Flow writes before sharing it with children. You are the editor of your own reading.
